Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new attachments. They can also improve its base stats or add additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Usually items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while objects with strong bases, such as eth titans aren't affected much in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies or received as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.
To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade statistics and the necessary component or materials.
There are three kinds of universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be used on any kind of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, but they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, will include their name at the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding the word Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades for gathering tools If a player replaces one glyph with another, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, except for the inscriptions that can be swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from the previous versions in a few fundamental ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can be upgraded a specific number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, however the materials required do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a few items and maximize the effect of these items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.
This will allow the item to receive new upgrade components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan’s Energy and it resets at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
When a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it can receive affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes available will depend on the item's kind. For instance an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade step will require an amount of Flightstones and crests based on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item is not able to get to its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option of transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower rate of success.
To measure the height of a building, engineers will employ an instrument to compare the measurement against an established reference point like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the level and backsight rod, then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are built to a high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is an important aspect of the game and can dramatically increase the strength of an item, damage, or other characteristics. This can be done through the menu for items or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be done sparingly.
The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which can be used to obtain reroll tokens. item upgrading can be used to upgrade the original item or an similar item. Recyclable items come with a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.
In the past, some upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you could receive the stats that mattered most to your build more often than others. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each stat. This could be a positive or a negative thing depending on your needs and wants from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater chances of obtaining a unique bonus.
The game also includes number sets that grant the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an item. This is a great method to add lots of power to a character without spending a lot of money.

Many players prefer to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the beginning stages of the game. This is because rerolling can give players a faster route to a more powerful character and allows them to climb higher levels and advance in the game faster.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be organized in different ways. They can have various dimensions, contain none at all, or contain a single element. They can be used for organizing data or sorting information. They are also useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in several ways, including by size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of set items that can be upgraded. Some are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Sets of armor that offer the highest defense value or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not improve the stats of the item when compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you already have lots of armor or weapons already.
Certain set items are upgraded to meet their own unique functions, which can be particularly useful in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).
Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to parity with their levels. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will show the item's attributes and the items required to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed as well as any necessary items. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternatively, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements for specific items.
In general, weapons and armor have a higher trade value when they are updated. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related, upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will give a substantial increase in their performance. This will also increase the defense value of armor with an updated look.
